Natthanan Kunnamas ยูเครนกับตัวแบบ CAGE : การวิเคราะห์เศรษฐกิจการเมืองระหว่างประเทศเพื่อการเปิดตลาดใหม่ของไทย
The research paper adopts the approach of international political economy (IPE) alongside Pankaj Ghemawat’s CAGE model to measure four distances: cultural (C), administrative (A), geographic (G), and economic (E) so as to give a proper assessment and desirable suggestions for establishing economic cooperation between Thailand and Ukraine. Such a task is considered as both opportunities and challenges of an attempt to penetrate this emerging market after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
According to the study, the cultural discrepancies between Ukrainian and Russian identities, trilateral political divisions, geographical limitations, and transition economy do not generate significant risks or hinder Thailand’s economic interaction with Ukraine. However the relations should be proceeded with awareness in sensitive industrial businesses and Thailand should keep an eye on this emerging and potential market closely

Besides, there is also the buildings of the regions or ‘regionalization’ process, not a geographic given but ideationally constructed to achieve synergetic
development outcomes in East Asia. Examples of ‘region’
